Check-in and check-out times
Usually you can check into a hotel or apartment from 12:00 or 2:00 local time, but there are exceptions. Check-out time is usually earlier than check-in time, as the hotel needs time to clean and prepare the room for the next check-in.
For exact check-in and check-out hours, please refer to the “Conditions of accommodation” and “Additional information” sections on the hotel page, as well as in the booking confirmation, voucher, and booking details in your account. If these times do not suit you, we recommend that you consider other accommodation options, especially if booking on the day of arrival.
Important: When planning check-in and check-out, please note the time zone in which the hotel or apartment is located.
Special features for checking in to aparthotel and apartments for same-day bookings
As apartments usually do not have a reception and check-in conditions are negotiated in advance, same-day bookings may be difficult. Therefore, we recommend contacting support prior to booking to confirm if check-in is possible today.
Immediately after booking, contact the apartment manager to arrange what time, where, and how you will collect the keys 一 this will help to speed up check-in. The manager's contact information can be found in the booking confirmation or requested from support.
Can I check in late at night or after the check-in date?
In most cases, the guest is welcome only on the day of arrival and no later than midnight. If no one checks in at that time, the booking is assigned a “no-show” status and the room sale is reopened.
This can only be avoided by notifying the hotel of a late check-in in advance (preferably at least a day in advance). We also recommend reporting late arrivals to support. We will pass the information on to the hotel or apartment and, in case of problems, confirm that the property has been informed in advance.
Can I check in earlier than the specified check-in time?
If you arrive at a hotel or apartment before the check-in time, some accommodations may offer to let you check in earlier for an additional fee or even for free if there are rooms available.
If no rooms are available when you arrive, you may be asked to leave your luggage at the hotel until check-in.
Is it possible to leave after the specified check-out time?
If you need the option to check out after the check-out time, hotels have different options:
Late check-out with extra charge
Late check-out without extra charge upon agreement with the hotel (if the delay is a maximum of a couple of hours)
Luggage storage in a special area
